Setting up Feedback

To set up the Feedback mission, follow these steps:

1. Set up a Team Space. Make sure you have a Team Space set up. If you don’t, you’ll need to set that up first, which you can do here.

2. Click on the Feedback Dashboard. Click on the Feedback dashboard, which can be found on the left side of your Feed page or on the top of your Team Space page.

3. Select a teammate to do Feedback with. Choose which teammate you’d like to do Feedback with. If you don’t have any teammates on Candor yet, you can invite them from this screen.

4. Select how often you’d like to do feedback. We’ll remind you when it’s time to share feedback again.

5. Launch Feedback. If you have more than 4 teammates and haven’t upgraded your account, you’ll need to add a credit card to do so. If you have less than 4 teammates, you can click “Launch Feedback” which will start the mission and notify your teammate.

‍

Inviting teammates to do Feedback

You’ll need to invite teammates to Candor so that you can share feedback with each other.

The easiest way to invite teammates to Candor is by clicking on the ‘Invite’ icon on the left side of your Feed, next to your Team Space name.

You’ll then be prompted to input your teammates’ emails or copy a link to send them. If you copy the link, you can paste it in Slack/Teams or in an email, prompting your teammates to sign up.

With either of these methods, your teammates will automatically be added to your Team Space and be able to do Feedback with you or with other teammates.

‍

How to share feedback

Once you’ve set up your feedback mission, your teammate will need to accept your invite before you can start sharing feedback. Once they accept, you can do feedback for the first time.

First, navigate to the Feedback dashboard by clicking on Feedback on the left part of the Feed:

Or, by navigating to your Team Space page and clicking the “Feedback” card in the top section of the page.

Once you are in the dashboard, you will see your feedback missions with different teammates. Click on the teammate you’d like to do feedback with.

Then, click “Start writing feedback” which will open the prompt carousel. From here, you’ll be able to answer any prompt that sparks some ideas for feedback.

Once you’ve shared feedback on at least one prompt, you can either “Complete Feedback” which will send a notification to your teammate, or “Finish later” which won’t notify your teammate and will let you continue sharing feedback at a later time.

When you complete feedback, we’ll send an email notification to your teammate that you’ve shared feedback. They will only be able to view it if they’ve shared feedback for you, too.

‍

How to view feedback shared

To see all feedback pairings, open the Feedback dashboard. You can do so by clicking “Feedback” on the left side of your Feed or by clicking the Feedback card in your Team Space on the top of the page.

You will see all feedback pairings you have set up in the dashboard. By clicking on a card, you will open feedback with that teammate and see any feedback they shared under “Teammate’s Takes for Me”. You can see feedback you’ve shared under “My Takes for Teammate”. You can also see past feedback shared in this view, organized by date.

Feedback is private to you and your teammate, so only the two of you will see the feedback shared.

To get the most out of Feedback, we have a few tips and tricks:

  • Read up on great feedback frameworks. Our favorites are non-violent communication and radical candor.
  • Follow up in a sync meeting if necessary. Sometimes it’s good to start a feedback conversation in written form, but continue in a meeting. Don’t be afraid to bring the online, offline.
